Game One: Penn State Mont Alto 8, Penn State Beaver 7

Mont Alto picked up a win in the first game of an away doubleheader at Penn State Beaver 8-7. Down 7-6 late, Mont Alto pushed across two runs in the top of the sixth inning to seal the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Kierstyn Mays scored Mackenzie Boyd on a RBI double in the bottom of the first inning to push Beaver ahead 1-0. Cassidy Crean scored two runs on a RBI single to center field as Beaver led 3-0 after one.

-Mont Alto offense took over in the top of the third inning with six runs on five hits as Kira Weikert had the big hit in the inning, a 3 RBI home run.

-A double steal attempt in the home half of the third saw Beaver regain the advantage 7-6.

-Lauren Allison led off the top of the sixth with a single. Abigail Cunningham followed that up by reaching via walk. With two outs in the inning, Alyssa Wiles scored both runners to give Mont Alto a 8-7 lead.

Game Two: Penn State Beaver 3, Penn State Mont Alto 2

Penn State Beaver evened the doubleheader with a split as they scored two runs late to win 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-Reza Benson started things off early with a RBI single to give Beaver a 1-0 lead after one inning of play.

-Mont Alto would answer back with a RBI double by Alyssa Wiles in the top of the third and another run in the top of the fourth to move ahead 2-1.

-Cassidy Crean singled to left to tie the game at 2-2. Mackenzie Boyd plated the game winning run on a sacrifice fly to left field in the seventh.
