Raylee Gibbons named January cheerleader of the month

MONT ALTO, Pa. — The Penn State Mont Alto cheerleading squad has named junior Raylee Gibbons (Dry Run, Pa. / Fannett-Metal) its January cheerleader of the month. 

“Raylee is our only veteran left, and even though she’s battling an injury, she puts in 100 percent effort and does everything she can to support her teammates and the basketball teams,” said head coach Jennifer Deinlein. “She’s always ready with a personal word of encouragement for the players. We’re also very proud of her efforts preparing to represent Mont Alto as a THON dancer and helping plan our Threes for THON event.”

The cheerleader of the month is determined by team nominations and goes to a squad member who stands out in her efforts on and off the court.

The Penn State Mont Alto cheerleading squad cheers at all home men’s and women’s basketball games. They are in action next on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
