Elimination game: Mont Alto 6, York 2
Mont Alto advanced in the PSUAC Baseball Playoffs Friday with an opening round 6-2 win over Penn State York. James Sibert had two doubles on the day and Carter Fogal and Wyatt Kissel both went yard in the first inning as Mont Alto scored three runs in the first inning. Mont Alto continued to add on with one run in each of the next three innings.
Joshua Sullivan went five strong innings, picking up the win while allowing just four hits. Garrett Worth went two innings in relief, surrendering only two hits.
Winners Bracket: Mont Alto 8, Schuylkill 1
Mont Alto starting pitcher Zach Garlin answered the call in game two of the PSUAC Playoffs for Mont Alto, going six innings and striking out 11 Schuylkill batters. Caiden Smith and James Sibert each picked up two hits at the top of the order and Kyle Neuendorf also went 2-4. Mont Alto built a 4-0 lead by scoring two runs in each of the first two innings.
Carter Fogal plated two more Mont Alto runs in the top of the fourth inning to extend the lead to 6-0. Brenan Adams hit a solo home run in the bottom of the inning to cut the Mont Alto lead to 6-1. Mont Alto added on more runs with two in the top of the seventh inning.
