Men's Basketball hosts successful golf tournament

The Penn State Mont Alto Basketball team had great success with their first annual golf tournament at Penn National Golf Club on September 13^th, 2012.  Over 40 golfers teed off and enjoyed a beautiful day of golf.  Mont Alto Athletics and the Men's Basketball team would like to thank all who played and sponsored the tournament.

With the help of the several sponsors the team raised just under $4,000.00.  The money raised will go towards equipment and clothing for the team, as well as to start a fund towards competing in an annual holiday tournament.  

"I am especially grateful to those who sponsored the tournament and the players who came enjoyed the weather, award winning golf course, and delicious dinner," Head Coach Jack Schenzel comments.  "It is important to all programs to raise money for the benefit of the student-athletes. I would also like to thank Penn National for being a great host site."

The team will be hosting the tournament again next fall and the date will be announced in the near future.  The hope is to start bringing the alumni back to play and build the tournament into an alumni weekend with a basketball game.
